West Ham United defender Ryan Fredericks has revealed a rousing team talk from captain Mark Noble was a major factor in their impressive victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

The Hammers became the first team to score against and beat Spurs at their new stadium, with Michail Antonio grabbing the game’s only goal.

It was a great display by the visitors, who keep alive their faint hopes of a top ten finish.

Fredericks, one of West Ham’s star players on the day, revealed that one of the main reasons for the lively display was because Noble had fired them up beforehand.

He said, as quoted by the club’s official website: “The captain Mark Noble gave a really good speech before the game which geed everyone up and he made it clear what the fans think about this game.

“Mark was quality today, he’s been quality all the season. He’s a great leader and a great man.”

It was one of their best displays of the season, and Noble himself led from the front.

It’s been another wonderful showing this term from the 31-year-old, who continues to give his all for a club he so clearly loves playing for.
