Rui Patricio will win Wolves more points during a season than lose

Wolverhampton Wanderers managed to sign goalkeeper Rui Patricio for £16million (BBC) in the summer and he’s certainly been worth every penny.

The 30-year-old has settled relatively comfortably to English football at Molineux this campaign and is part of a team that are seventh in the Premier League table.

He is a well recognised shot-stopper in European football and he’s also got 77 international caps for Portugal.

Wolves have conceded 33 goals in their 26 league games so far this season and definitely have a top-class goalkeeper in their ranks.

Nuno Espirito Santo should consider his goalkeeper to be a real gem in the squad and they snapped him up on a relatively bargain price.

There are a few question marks over him when it comes to his distribution and commanding his box.

His kicking this season out from the back has been questionable and fans have seen him boot the ball into the stands on several occasions.

But his world-class saves surely outweigh any errors in playing out from the back and there is no doubt he has saved them more points than he’s lost this season.

He is now entering the peak years of his career as a goalkeeper and Wolves supporters can be confident he’s still a brilliant number one.
