Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves has been effusive in his praise of the Anfield atmosphere, speaking to the Sunday Mirror.
He said: “I feel at home in Wolverhampton. It is unbelievable the way that the fans receive all the players at the club. I am not saying this because I play for Wolves, but in my opinion the atmosphere in our stadium is very special.
“There is only one club in the Premier League who can get close to our fans in the way they support the team – and that is Liverpool.”
Neves shone in his first season in the Premier League and could add something to the Liverpool engine room – if it wasn’t already so packed with talent.
It would likely take a monster bid to lure him away from the Old Gold in the current window, but he has shown his appreciation for the Reds’ atmosphere.
This one shouldn’t be interpreted as Neves fluttering his eyelids towards Merseyside and looking for a move – Wolves have a great thing going and the playmaker is at the very heart of that.
