Wolverhampton Wanderers recorded a dramatic 4-3 victory over Leicester City on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League and there were a number of star performers.

Diogo Jota was the headline act after a stunning hat-trick, which included a 93rd minute winner in the closing stages.

But manager Nuno Esparto Santo may be encouraged more by the performance of midfielder Ruben Neves.

Neves was essential to the club’s promotion from the Championship last season and has shown in glimpses this campaign in the top flight of why he’s so highly praised.

But the 21-year-old has not had it all his own way in the Premier League and was even left on the bench on Boxing Day for the draw against Fulham,.

Neves demonstrated his incredible passing range at Molineux against Leicester, as the deep-lying playmaker pulled the strings.

The Portugal international laid on one assist and was pivotal in the winning goal with a sweeping through ball.

He proved that he can dominate games against top-flight opposition alongside midfield partner Joao Moutinho and he will now hope to continue with this form.

Wolves have a kind run of fixtures on the horizon with no game against top-six opposition in their next six games.
