Cristian Romero might have celebrated in the face of Harry Maguire today but it was Manchester United who had the last laugh against Tottenham.
Romero was seen screaming in the face of Maguire after the United defender diverted a Sergio Reguilon cross into his own goal in the 72nd minute to level the game. However, Cristiano Ronaldo scored his third of the night late on to seal a 3-2 win for the Red Devils at Old Trafford.

Romero’s reaction drew some attention both in the world of social media and in the Sky Sports studio. And according to Roy Keane, the reaction from Romero was a bad one and one that Maguire and his teammates will remember.
“No no no, not for me. Not good. You remember. When you’re a player you take not of that, don’t worry. You take note,” Keane said on the Sky studio.
Both Michael Dawson and Gary Neville agreed with Keane too, with Dawson suggesting as a defender it’s something that will come back to bite Romero.
TBR’s View: Romero Overstepped The Mark
Really, the Tottenham man has just made himself look silly here. Not to mention the fact he then left Ronaldo free from the corner to score the winner.
It was a needless reaction from a defender who has been impressing. But Roy Keane is right, it’s simply pointless and no need to do it. Romero will hope this isn’t him in the next game, otherwise it will really be an egg on face moment.
