Roy Keane has been singing the praises of Newcastle United midfielder, Bruno Guimarães, live on Sky Sports tonight.
The Brazilian midfielder helped himself to another few goals over the weekend as he looks to be getting into top gear once again for Newcastle. Since signing from Lyon, Guimaraes has been nothing short of superb and looks to be key in taking the Toon forward.

And speaking about the Samba star on MNF tonight, former Man United and Ireland legend Keane admitted he’s been really impressed.
“What the really good players do is they affect games and he’s affecting games at this moment in time. Look, there’s a long winter to come and a lot of games, but he’s in a rich vein of form. He’s doing what you’re supposed to do as a midfielder, you’ve got to tick a lot of boxes,” Keane said on Sky.
“Again, we’ve seen there, tackling, running, he’s adding a few goals to it and he’s got that footballing intelligence, obviously passing under pressure. That’s a big one for the top players in the tight games, you’ve got to do it. Listen, he looks a good player.”
Guimaraes was highly sought after before signing for Newcastle and he is showing exactly why. He is expected to feature for Brazil this winter, too.
TBR’s View: Guimaraes Makes Newcastle Tick
The top players, as Keane says, do things in games on a consistent basis. Guimaraes is doing that for Newcastle and they look to have a superb player on their hands.
Eddie Howe wanted quality when PIF took over and they’ve given it him with this signing. He has a bit of everything in the middle of the park and if anyone can see that, it’s Roy Keane.
Guimaraes will be key for Newcastle, especially if they have any hopes of pushing for Europe.
