‘Rotten’: Newcastle fans tear into Ayoze Perez after losing to Brighton

Newcastle United suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Brighton on Saturday – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter took their frustration out on Ayoze Perez.

The Magpies are still without a win in the Premier league this campaign and slipped to the bottom of the table following Cardiff City’s win over Fulham.

A deflected goal from Beram Kayal was the difference between the two teams at St James’ Park at the weekend, as Brighton went away with a valuable three points.

Rafael Benitez’s side once again were made to pay this season for their struggles in front of goal and are lacking quality options in the final third.

Attacking midfielder Perez is one of the Newcastle players tasked with trying to chip in with his fair share of goals, but missed a glorious chance early in the contest against Brighton as he fired straight at the goalkeeper.

The 25-year-old is still waiting to score his first goal this season and should feel disappointed after netting 10 in all competitions in the last campaign.

A selection of fans were fuming that he completed 90 minutes against Brighton and feel that he offers very little.
