Rotherham United boss Paul Warne has shared his happiness at Rangers loanee Jake Hastie’s debut for the club.
Rangers snapped up the winger from Motherwell in the summer and the 20-year-old has a big future at Ibrox. However, Steven Gerrard clearly felt he would not be playing regular football in Glasgow this season so he allowed him to head out on loan to the League One club on deadline day.
Hastie got off to a bang in a Yorkshire derby with Doncaster Rovers. His delicious free-kick delivery evaded everyone, defenders and attackers, before finding its way into the back of the net and giving the Millers the lead.

Unfortunately, he suffered with cramp and had to come off later in the game, which Rotherham went on to lose 2-1 at the Keepmoat Stadium.
However, speaking to the Rotherham official website, Warne declared his happiness at the Rangers loanee’s performance.
“He’s a nice kid. Positive.
“He started the game quite shy and then he grew into it but then he blew up bless him.
“All his set-pieces were good and on another day we take them and we’re 2-0 up.”
Some Rangers fans were likely disappointed to see Hastie head out on loan so soon after his arrival at Ibrox.
But with wide options aplenty even before Ryan Kent’s return on a permanent deal, Rangers had to make a tough decision regarding the wide-man and the early signs are good.
Hopefully, he can continue to win plaudits from his loan boss throughout the season.
