Danny Rose is aware that the Champions League final meeting with Liverpool on June 1 could well be his final match for Tottenham Hotspur, according to the Daily Mirror.
Rose was one of the outstanding performers as Spurs beat the odds to come from behind to win 3-2 over Ajax on Wednesday but in typically outspoken fashion, addressed the reports he’s seen that he’ll be leaving.
He said: “I keep seeing I’m being sold. If that’s the case and it’s going to be my last game for Tottenham, I’m hoping to go out with a bang and lift a trophy.”
It would be surprising if Spurs were to let Rose go on the back of a season when he has rediscovered his form emphatically.
He may well be England’s left back for the Nations League semi-final against Holland next month – although Ben Chilwell may have something to say about that – and is back on top of his game.
His speed and aggression have been integral to Tottenham’s unlikely Champions League run and in a squad where alterations are needed elsewhere, it wouldn’t make much sense to force a change at left back when Rose is such a good and committed option.
