Former Celtic boss Ronny Deila believes Kieran Tierney has a better mentality than former Hoops defender Virgil van Dijk did at the same age.
The Scotland international’s future is up in the air at the moment, with Arsenal reportedly having made a second transfer bid worth £25 million (Scottish Sun).

The Hoops have rejected that offer, but the Gunners are expected to return.
Parkhead favourite Tierney has been a revelation for the club since Deila gave him his debut in 2015, and the 43-year-old reckons the star is very comparable to £75 million Liverpool star van Dijk (BBC Sport).
He said (Scottish Sun): “Kieran would be really, really good at Arsenal – I know it.
“He needs to improve a little bit technically, still. But at the same time he has everything else already and will learn the rest.

“They both had the physical attributes to play at the highest level. Virgil had everything. But Tierney has the same.”
TBR’s view
Deila’s assessment of Tierney would suggest that Celtic have a world-class player of the future on their hands.
To be ‘further on’ than van Dijk at the age of 22 even in a mental capacity is very exciting.

Everyone has watched in awe as the Dutchman has become arguably the best central defender on the planet – just four years after leaving Parkhead.
Many Bhoys supporters are clinging to the hope that Tierney will stick around for 10-in-a-row, but Arsenal’s next offer could simply be too good to refuse.
There’s definitely a good chance of him taking the same route as van Dijk, as much as his adoring Celtic fans don’t want to entertain the idea.
