Valentino Lazaro has posted a somewhat cryptic message on Instagram after he scored in Newcastle’s excellent 4-1 win over Bournemouth on Wednesday evening – and Romelu Lukaku has responded to his post.
Despite numerous changes made by Steve Bruce, on-loan Inter Milan winger Lazaro remained on the bench to start with as the Toon ran riot to secure a second three points since returning to action after the break.
Lazaro, 24, has failed to start in any of Newcastle’s four games following the resumption – but has come on as a substitute in all four. But he took full advantage of his 28-minute cameo against Bournemouth.
The Austria international scored his second Newcastle goal – the first coming against West Brom in the FA Cup – with a neat finish past Aaron Ramsdale to make it four for Newcastle, and he posted on Instagram after the match.
As seen above, Lazaro captioned the post with “statements” and an image of him with his finger to his lips. Perhaps, a message over his lack of game time under Steve Bruce – with the loanee certainly showing he is deserving of more.
On loan from Inter Milan, Newcastle do have the option to make Lazaro’s move a permanent one – and many Toon supporters are beginning to think Lazaro is worth the £21.5million (TMW) clause.
Inter teammate Lukaku responded to his post, ordering the winger to “tell em”.
