Romano suggests title-winners have made offer for 21-year-old Arsenal player; but no agreement yet
Fabrizio Romano has shared on his Twitch channel that Olympiacos have made a bid for Reiss Nelson, but there is no agreement with Arsenal yet.
Nelson is one of a number of Gunners players facing an uncertain future at the Emirates.
The 21-year-old only featured twice in the Premier League last season.
Mikel Arteta insisted late on in the campaign that Nelson deserved more game-time. So it is little surprise that he has been linked with a move away.
Romano recently claimed on Twitter that Nelson had been offered a new contract with Arsenal looking to loan him out. However, the journalist added that he had not yet accepted the terms.
He also added that Olympiacos and three English clubs had already made contact about a potential move.
And it seems that the Greek side have now stepped up their interest.
Romano has claimed on his Twitch channel (20/7; 19:13) that Olympiacos have made an offer for Nelson. He did add that there is no agreement as yet.
Nelson has featured in Arsenal’s first two pre-season games. So perhaps the Gunners feel that it is too soon to make a decision the winger’s future.
Edu looks to be getting quite the overhaul going at the Emirates. Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga are already through the door.
They could well be the first of many. So you could understand if the Gunners were seeing what further changes take place before they make a final decision on Nelson’s future.
