Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter that Martin Odegaard is tempted by the prospect of joining Arsenal on loan, with the Gunners’ bid throwing a spanner into the works for the Real Madrid youngster.
Odegaard looks set to be on the move before the January window closes. The 22-year-old is wanted by Real Sociedad, who took the Norwegian last season.
Romano has claimed that their bid had actually been the front-runner. But the journalist suggested that Arsenal’s offer has left him with plenty to ponder.
Martin Ødegaard is ‘tempted’ by Arsenal loan bid, he’s gonna decide together with his family.
Real Sociedad are in advanced talks to sign him by one week [leading the race over Ajax], always been Martin’s priority by months. #AFC offer led him to take hours/days of reflection.

According to Romano, Odegaard is tempted by a potential Emirates switch. And he has suggested that Arsenal’s offer has persuaded him to take some time before making a decision on his future.
It is certainly a good sign for Odegaard to take a step back before deciding where he will go.
Some would be tempted by the chance to return to the Basque club if they were in a similar situation.
He enjoyed a successful spell with Real, proving that he could make an impact in La Liga. So you could understand why he was keen to head back.
And that makes Odegaard’s reported stance all the more encouraging for Arsenal. So it will be very interesting to see how the situation develops in the coming days.
