Romano says Valencia are set for Bryan Gil talks after Spurs approach

Valencia are set for talks with Tottenham Hotspur over a potential deal for Bryan Gil, while Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter that Real Sociedad have also made an approach for the winger.

Gil remains at Spurs after spending the second-half of last season on loan with Los Che. Antonio Conte named the 21-year-old on the bench for the Premier League opener at the weekend. But he was one of four players not used by the Italian.

And it seems that a departure could be on the cards.

Gil was an incredibly popular player during his time at the Mestalla. Valencia have since changed manager, with former Spurs managerial target Gennaro Gattuso at the helm.

But it seems that they remain admirers of the youngster. Romano has taken to Twitter to suggest that talks between Valencia and Tottenham over Gil are imminent.

But they are not the only La Liga side keen on the wide-man…

It is not clear whether Gil will leave on loan or permanently. But Valencia do not tend to be among the biggest spenders. And Tottenham are surely going to want a considerable fee if they are going to sell Gil.

Gil has the potential to be a ‘superstar‘. But it simply appears that he is not currently suited to what Conte wants in North London.

Another loan move to Spain will help in certain ways. It is a league he knows well. So that may restore his confidence and see his value increase again.

On the other hand, he has proved himself in La Liga. So perhaps, a loan move elsewhere would make more sense if he is still hoping to make the grade at Tottenham.
