Arsenal have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Brazilian youngster Savio, with Fabrizio Romano reporting on Twitter that Manchester City are in talks to sign the 17-year-old.
City, of course, have already secured the signature of one of South America’s brightest prospects in recent times. They secured a deal for Julian Alvarez in January.

Meanwhile, they also have Kayky on their books. And it appears that they are now looking to sign his countryman.
Savio has made 23 appearances for Atletico Mineiro’s first-team, predominantly featuring from the right-wing. He is still awaiting his first goal for the club.
It was recently reported that Arsenal want the teenager. Obviously, the Gunners themselves have benefitted from a transfer masterstroke involving a youngster from Brazil.

Gabriel Martinelli has been hugely exciting throughout his time at the Emirates. And he now looks to be back on track after previously having some lengthy injury issues.
Unfortunately for Arsenal, it would appear that they may be about to miss out on Savio.
Romano has confirmed on Twitter that the Gunners were indeed in contact about a possible move. However, Manchester City look to be in the driving seat.
The Premier League champions have made a £5.4 million bid that includes add-ons. Atletico Mineiro would also receive a percentage of any future sale.
Romano added that he could join PSV Eindhoven on loan if any deal does go through in the coming weeks…
Manchester City set to deal blow to Arsenal with Savio move
Unsurprisingly, signing Savio looks to be a real coup for City. He looks extremely talented, often cutting inside onto his left foot and using his trickery to dance past opponents.
Any teenager wanted by the likes of City, Arsenal and the Red Bull Group will likely have an incredibly high ceiling. So it is a real blow for the Gunners to seemingly be on the verge of missing out.
