Romano says Liverpool will announce signing of Carvalho in May
Liverpool have completed the signing of wonderkid Fabio Carvalho from Fulham, according to expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Reds chased the Fulham starlet until the end of the January transfer window but were unable to get the deal done.
The 19-year-old Portuguese playmaker already has Premier League experience from the back end of last season and has helped Fulham get to the verge of an instant return this time around.
They have got their man now and will not loan him back to Craven Cottage for next season.
Romano says that the medical already completed, and that Fulham have approved that.
A £5 million fee initially plus £2.7 million more in add-ons will be paid and the teenager has penned a deal to be a Liverpool player until 2027.
There is a sell-on clause included in the deal, although it is not specified exactly what that is.
An announcement is expected in May and it will likely be earlier than that when the Cottagers confirm their promotion back to the Premier League.
The Reds nabbed Harvey Elliott from Fulham in July 2019 and have started establishing him in the first team already this season despite him suffering a serious injury.
Carvalho may have looked at that potential pathway as one he can follow at Anfield, under a manager in Jurgen Klopp who has assembled some of the best young talents in the world.
Klopp has arguably the best squad in the world right now and also has some of the brightest young starlets coming through behind them.
