Fabrizio Romano has suggested on Twitter that both Newcastle United and Liverpool are amongst the clubs monitoring Manu Kone, with the midfielder in contention to leave Borussia Monchengladbach this summer.
Kone has shone following his move to the Bundesliga side two years ago. The 21-year-old has made 15 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring once.

He is actually one of the best-performing players in Europe’s top leagues when it comes to dribbling, according to FBRef. The youngster is excellent at progressing the ball and is willing to get involved in the play in the final third of the pitch.

And it seems that he may not be at Monchengladbach much longer.
Romano has taken to Twitter to suggest that a number of sides are monitoring Kone. Newcastle want the France under-21 international, while Liverpool also have him on their radar as a potential alternative to Jude Bellingham.

He is obviously not yet the finished article. But what he is doing in Germany this season has been extremely impressive.
Newcastle have rarely got anything wrong in the market under their new owners. And it is most definitely an exciting time to move to St James’ Park with Eddie Howe’s men absolutely flying.
But of course, joining Liverpool is hard for any player to turn down. The Reds need to make changes in the middle of the park in the coming windows. And Kone would be a very shrewd addition given that he is still improving and not yet a household name.
