Fabrizio Romano has taken to Twitter this evening to say that Giovani Lo Celso is nearing an exit from Tottenham.
The Argentinian midfielder is among the cluster of players Antonio Conte is wanting moved on this summer and after spending more than £100m, there is some work to do for Spurs in moving these players on.

However, they might be edging closer to moving Lo Celso onto Villarreal, with Fabrizio Romano saying via Twitter tonight that a deal is getting ever closer. Romano claims that Unai Emery is desperate to see Lo Celso signed, and that a new round of talks will go ahead this week with the hope an agreement can be reached.
Lo Celso has not quite got going in a Tottenham shirt ever since he signed for the club and like a number of other players this summer, has been ruthlessly cast aside by Antonio Conte.
It remains to be seen whether or not Lo Celso will once again sign on loan for Villarreal or if Spurs opt to sell him permanently. Given their summer spending, a permanent deal might suit everyone better.
TBR’s View: Lo Celso Needed To Leave Tottenham
Giovani Lo Celso is not a bad player. He hasn’t done as much as he’d have liked in the Tottenham shirt but he’s by no means a complete flop either.
He’s had some good games for Spurs but ultimately, Conte is a man of conviction and if he’s decided you aren’t part of his thinking, then you need to just move on quickly.
Lo Celso did very well for Villarreal and he’ll be a smart signing for them under Emery. For Spurs, they simply need to get deals like this over the line and bring that wage bill down a tad after so much spending this summer.
