Romano says Arsenal set for fresh talks with Gabriel Jesus today

Fabrizio Romano has told Caught Offside that Arsenal will hold fresh talks with Gabriel Jesus in the coming hours to understand if they will be able to sign the Manchester City star this summer.

Gunners fans would be forgiven for growing a little concerned about the speculation surrounding Jesus. For much of the summer, it has appeared that he was Emirates-bound.

Reports claimed some time ago that personal terms were all but agreed. However, it is not clear how much the move has moved on since. And there is rival interest, with Tottenham amongst his other admirers.

Arsenal reportedly remain confident of signing Jesus. And it would appear that today could be a crucial day in deciding what the future holds for the Brazilian.

Romano has now claimed that discussions will be held imminently. And it appears that the upcoming talks will be absolutely pivotal regarding whether Jesus ends up at Arsenal.

“Gabriel Jesus is still the main target of Arsenal as of today,” he told Caught Offside. “In the next few hours there will be new contacts to understand if they can reach an agreement or move to other targets.”

So missing out on Jesus would be a huge blow. He is an ‘world-class’ player. And Kevin Campbell recently suggested that he is the best pressing forward around right now.
