Fabrizio Romano provides latest update on Adama Traore to Tottenham transfer
Tottenham Hotspur are pushing on in their attempts to bring Adama Traore into the club, according to respected journalist and transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano.
Spurs have been chasing Traore all January but as yet, haven’t managed to get any deal over the line for the Spanish speedster. Bids of around £20m have been lodged, and Wolves are said to be open to doing business, despite Bruno Lage being complimentary of Traore in recent weeks.
And according to Romano, today is the day for Tottenham when it comes to Traore. Taking to Twitter, the journalist has claimed that Spurs are going to push on from today and hope to conclude the final details of the deal.
Traore got his first goal of the season last week and scored again this weekend, only to see it disallowed. He is into the final 18 months of his contract, and Wolves are open to cashing in.
Tottenham, meanwhile, are desperate to land the winger. Antonio Conte is apparently keen to see Traore be his right wing-back. The Spaniard’s pace, power, and potential is something the Spurs boss feels he can harness.
TBR’s View: Is Today The Day For Tottenham And Traore?
Spurs fans will certainly hope so. This has been dragging on for weeks now and Tottenham fans simply want some new blood in the squad.
Yesterday’s defeat at Chelsea was another example of how far short this squad is. Traore – who Jack Grealish lauded as ‘unbelievable’ due to his speed – definitely improves things and he’ll be a huge threat with his speed down the right. Of course, the end product needs to improve. But Conte is a top level coach and might be the man to unlock Traore’s huge potential.
Hopefully, the Traore signing is part of a big week for Tottenham. Ins and outs are expected, with Spurs fans hoping the Wolves man is the first of many.
