Fabrizio Romano appears to have hinted on Twitter that there may be scope for a future deal for Martin Odegaard as he suggested that Arsenal and Real Madrid will hold talks about the 22-year-old at the end of the season.
Odegaard looks to be closing in on a loan move to the Emirates this month. Romano tweeted earlier in the day that Mikel Arteta had been crucial in ensuring that the Gunners win the race for the Norwegian.
He suggested that a medical is imminent. And he has provided a further update on the move as it nears completion.
According to Romano, Arsenal do not have an option to buy Odegaard. However, he has claimed that the Gunners will hold talks with Los Blancos in the summer.

That would suggest that the door may be open for a further deal to be agreed. It is not uncommon, of course, for Arsenal and Madrid to extend deals further down the line.
Dani Ceballos is currently on loan at the Emirates from the La Liga giants for the second time. So perhaps, the two parties could be open to a further loan deal being agreed for Odegaard.
And should he impress, Arsenal fans may be hoping that there is scope for a permanent move.
Madrid may still see Odegaard’s long-term future at the Bernabeu. But Romano’s intriguing update hints that Arsenal could have an opportunity to keep the youngster in some capacity beyond this season.
