Fabrizio Romano has taken to his Twitter account to confirm that Tottenham are close to signing off a deal to see Bryan Gil leave for Valencia on loan.
The young Spanish winger has had a torrid time ever since arriving at Spurs and is set for another spell away from the club, with no sign of him persuading Antonio Conte he is ready to compete at first-team level this season.

According to Romano, Gil is going to complete a season-long loan to Valencia and crucially, there has been no buy option discussed in the deal. It means that, for now at least, Gil is simply spending a straight loan with the Spanish side as he looks to kickstart his career once more.
Gil’s departure is one of many from the club this summer. Antonio Conte made his mind up early about who he wanted in his squad this season and it’s clear Gil was never going to get opportunities. Players like Gio Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele have also moved on, while the likes of Harry Winks and Sergio Reguilon could also be sold before deadline day.
TBR’s View: Gil’s Tottenham Career Over
There’s no other way of looking at it really. Bryan Gil just isn’t going to be a Tottenham player while Antonio Conte is in charge so this move to Valencia is a perfect chance for him to show his true worth.
Gil is clearly a talented young player but to make it in the Premier League you need that bit more about you.
Of course, he could have a superb season in Spain and Spurs might want another look at him next summer. But as it stands, you’d have to say this is looking like one of the worst bits of business Tottenham have done in recent years.
