Arsenal have switched their sights to Oleksandr Zinchenko after all-but failing to land Lisandro Martinez.

And reports linking the Gunners and the Manchester City ace have been coming thick and fast over the past few days.

As per the Manchester Evening News, the latest developments on this potential transfer are positive for Arsenal.

Apparently, there is a growing expectation that Zinchenko will become the Gunners’ fifth signing of the summer.

Enough progress has reportedly been made over the last week that a transfer is now a live possibility.

And apparently there’s a good chance Arsenal can wrap up a deal quickly enough for Zinchenko to link up with the club in the United States.

That said, there is still work to be done on the Gunners’ behalf in terms of agreeing a fee with Man City and sorting personal terms with the player.

Fabrizio Romano has also provided a positive update on the Zinchenko to Arsenal state of play.

On Twitter, he claimed that Zinchenko “can leave the club”, as per a City internal decision.

And Arsenal are reportedly prepared to submit an official proposal for the Ukraine international.

Arsenal would be landing top talent in Zinchenko

Arteta worked alongside Zinchenko at City and the two reportedly maintain a strong relationship.

The former FC Ufa ace can play both at left-back and in midfield.

These are two areas Arsenal are still looking to bolster this summer.

City teammate Kyle Walker, in a recent interview with YouTuber Timbsy, rated Zinchenko among the most technically gifted players at the Etihad.

He said: “Not in any order, because I wouldn’t want to put them in any order, my top three are Zinchenko, [Riyad] Mahrez and [Bernardo] Silva.”

On the Ukrainian, Walker added: “He’s incredible, incredible. Two touches, head tennis, he’s incredible. So good, so, so good.

“And then you’re leaving the likes of De Bruyne out, Phil Foden, Cancelo. But they don’t come close to those three.”
