Romaine Mundle has posted on Instagram after the Tottenham Hotspur teenager put pen to paper on his first professional contract with the North London club – not long after making just his second appearance for the club’s Under-23 side.

Mundle, 18, has been a regular in Tottenham’s Under-18 side over the past two seasons. In that time, he has clocked up 33 appearances for the 18’s – he has had a hand in 13 goals, scoring four and creating nine. His versatility is impressive.

The youngster can play on either flank, as a central midfielder or in the 10 role. In his 19 Under-18 Premier League games this season, he has nine goal involvements and that has seen Mundle gain a couple of chances in the 23’s.

He made his 23’s debut as a substitute against Chelsea back in December, before starting and lasting 88 minutes during a 3-0 win over Manchester United in March. He was an unused sub against Liverpool, but has posted on Insta after his new deal.

Mundle has numerous options ahead of him. George Marsh, Jamie Bowden, Dilan Markanday and Nile John are impressing in the 23’s while Harvey White and Jack Roles have done well on loan at Portsmouth and Stevenage.

That is even before considering a first-team chance. But Mundle deserves his new deal and over the course of the next season, he will be targeting a regular role in the Under-23 side with a view to getting some game time in the Europa League.

Plenty of his 23’s teammates replied, including the likes of White and Troy Parrott.
