A number of Manchester City fans have taken to Twitter to praise John Stones’ latest impressive performance for Pep Guardiola’s side.

The Citizens made light work of Borussia Monchengladbach in their Champions League last-16 second leg at the Puskas Arena, running out 2-0 winners for a 4-0 aggregate victory.

Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoring for the Premier League leaders on 12 minutes, an effort which went in off the bar.

Not long after, Ilkay Gundogan made it two with a fine curled finish around goalkeeper Yann Sommer, the Germany international’s 15th goal of the season.

Stones played a part in both goals, starting the moves which led to his teammates finding the back of the net.

In addition, the £100,000-a-week star once again impressed from a defensive perspective, looking assured and never putting a foot wrong.

Needless to say, plenty of City fans were eager to praise Stones during and after the game:

Stones has made 159 competitive appearances for City since his £47.5million move in the summer of 2016.
