Rodrigo Moreno scored his second goal in Leeds United colours since his club-record move from Valencia in the summer and he has posted on Instagram following the win over Newcastle – prompting reaction from Leeds players, and Dani Parejo.
The Brazil-born Spain international was handed his 12th appearance for Leeds on Wednesday night, with Marcelo Bielsa using the experienced star in attacking midfield – rather than up front. Leeds picked up a brilliant 5-2 win over the Toon.
They went behind as Jeff Hendrick tapped in while Ciaran Clark scored a second for Newcastle, but ultimately the Toon failed to deal with Leeds. Patrick Bamford, Rodrigo, Stuart Dallas, Gjanni Alioski and Jack Harrison all scored.
Rodrigo’s goal saw Leeds go 2-1 up, picking the ball up 30 yards out. He played it out wide to Harrison and the winger replied with a stunning cross for Rodrigo to head home. He posted on Instagram following the win.

The goal of the game might have come from ex-New York City star Harrison but Rodrigo’s goal could be the most important – giving the Spain international some much-needed confidence. Going forward, that new-found belief could really help Leeds.
Plenty of Leeds players responded including captain Liam Cooper to Rodrigo’s post – as did Atletico Madrid’s Geoffrey Kondogbia, Celta Vigo icon Iago Aspas and Villarreal maestro Dani Parejo.
Parejo’s message is translated as: “Big brother”, while Aspas commented: “Great goal”.
