Rodrigo Moreno explains the edge Leeds United have over Premier League teams

Leeds United forward Rodrigo Moreno has been discussing his start to life at Leeds United with the media in Brazil and has highlighted what he believes to be the club’s major advantage over opposing teams.

The Spanish international, who is half Brazilian, joined Leeds in the summer from Valencia and has been integral to the club’s promising start to life in the top flight.

One of the main reasons why he feels Leeds can get the better of opposition in the Premier League is because of the side’s superior physical conditioning demanded upon them by head coach Marcelo Bielsa.

“It is very analytical work, there are few global exercises,” Rodrigo told ESPN about Bielsa’s coaching. “It seems that he separates the aspects of the game into different parts, and works on it in a very analytical way. And the intensity of the training and the intensity that he requires in the games also caught my attention. I think one of the big differences that is happening in our matches is our physical capacity in relation to the opponents, it has been a very big difference.”

Leeds have certainly made people fairly aware of their relentless running style in the early weeks of the season, even if the recent 4-1 loss to Leicester City might have put a dampener on their strong start.

The likes of Patrick Bamford, Mateusz Klich and Luke Ayling are tireless runners and Leeds United fans have got used to watching their team essentially run opponents into the ground.

Rodrigo will not be doing much of that for the time being, as he looks to recover from Covid-19.

But as soon as he is back in action you can guarantee he will soon be charging around the pitch again as Bielsa dictates.
