Marvin Compper’s spell at Celtic has been a disaster for all parties and it needs to come to an end this January.
Celtic only signed Compper last January. The defender joined to bolster Brendan Rodgers’ options at the back.
But in more than 10 months with the Bhoys, Compper has played just one competitive match.
That came with an 83-minute cameo against Morton in the Scottish FA Cup.
It speaks volumes that he has not been trusted against any tougher opposition.
And with Celtic’s current problems at centre-back, Compper would have been given a go by now if he was good enough.

Kristoffer Ajer has been out injured, leaving Rodgers with a conundrum. Who should he partner with Dedryck Boyata?
Jozo Simunovic has had injury problems, Jack Hendry’s form has been questionable and Filip Benkovic is young and raw.
Compper, with his vast experience, may have been given a go. But the 33-year-old has been completely frozen out by Rodgers.
And with Celtic’s squad looking too full, the once-capped former Germany international must leave.
Compper’s career is coming to an end and he’ll want to finish off with some game time. This will probably lead him back to Germany, where he may play second tier football.
And Celtic need to get the veteran off the wage books as Rodgers continues to trim his squad.
