Antonee Robinson expects Marco Silva to give him a chance during Everton’s pre-season plans after an impressive loan spell at Wigan Athletic last season.
Speaking to Wigan Today, Robinson, 21, said that Silva had been in touch to praise him and also explained how important the spell with the Latics was for him.
He said: “This has been another very important season. The next goal for me is to kick on towards the Everton first team. I’ll be going back for pre-season fighting fit and raring to go.
“The manager’s been in touch with me, he keeps telling me what I need to work on and stuff. He’s been pleased with me for what I’ve done this season so I don’t see why he wouldn’t give me a chance next season.”

Robinson, along with fellow Premier League loanee Reece James, excelled as part of Paul Cook’s side, who look to play good football and ended up surviving in the second tier with relative ease.
The left back saw Lucas Digne come in and become the first choice in that position last season but Leighton Baines’ advancing years means that there should be a space to battle the Frenchman either this term or next.
As he says, the next step is to get into the Toffees’ first team and given that Silva seemed pleased enough with that he was doing out on loan at Wigan, he should get a chance or two to play during pre-season.
