Bukayo Saka impressed once again for Arsenal as the Gunners continued their return to form with a well-earned point against high-flying Leicester City – and the teen has earned praise from Robin van Persie and John Hartson.
Saka, 18, has enjoyed a marvelous season which has included breaking into the senior team under Unai Emery and then becoming one of the club’s most-important players during Mikel Arteta’s reign.
Clocking up 35 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions this season, Saka has been involved in 15 goals despite playing at left-back in 15 of those outings. Indeed, he has scored four and created 11.
His latest assist came on Tuesday night as he put the ball on a plate for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to open the scoring. The Gunners skipper has seemingly rediscovered his shooting boots, netting three in his last two games.
Saka almost set up a second as his quick turn and cross gave Alexandre Lacazette a chance, only for Kasper Schmeichel to produce a stunning one-handed stop. The game changed with 15 left, as Eddie Nketiah was sent off.
Leicester dominated the last 15 and another striker back among the goals also got his third in two games – Jamie Vardy. He tapped home Demarai Gray’s excellent cross, sharing the spoils at 1-1.
But that equaliser did not detract from Saka’s excellent performance. The teen has now laid on two assists and a goal in his last four Premier League appearances and he earned praise from van Persie and Hartson on Twitter.
