West Ham are finishing the season strong in the Premier League and are on course for a mid-table finish during Manuel Pellegrini’s first campaign in charge at the London Stadium.

One of the surprise packages of the year has to be Robert Snodgrass, who was originally signed for £10.2million (BBC Sport) in 2017.

The 31-year-old was loaned out to Aston Villa in the Championship last season and his prospects with the Hammers looked bleak at the time.

But the Scotsman has had a revival with Pellegrini at the helm and had a decent individual campaign.

He’s made 38 appearances across all competitions, scoring four goals and supplying nine assists in return.

Snodgrass has shown his quality as a winger with his pin-point delivery, while he’s also been used in a more central attacking role at times behind a striker.

Despite a change of fortune for him over the last year, he could find himself back at square one next season.

West Ham’s competition for places is set to be cranked up next season and Snodgrass is at risk of being frozen out of the best starting XI.

Felipe Anderson and Michail Antonio look a great combination in the wide areas right now, while Andriy Yarmolenko will come back into the mix and there is also the developing young talent Grady Diangan to keep an eye out for.

Meanwhile, Manuel Lanzini can expect to fill the central playmaker role if he can get a strong pre-season under his belt.

Snodgrass has an excellent work-rate and the left-footed ace has shown great determination, but may need to raise his game again next year to stay in the team.
