Some were more notable than others. Robert Snodgrass, for example, was a part of that Aston Villa team last season. It was his last game for the club on a successful loan spell from West Ham and he is clearly happy to see his old pals back with another chance of promotion.

Aston Villa legend Ian Taylor was also clearly pleased at the win:

Even former Aston Villa flop Antonio Luna had encouraging words to say:

Tony Xia, the club’s former owner and now minority stakeholder was blamed by many for Aston Villa’s poor start to the season. But he is clearly excoted to see the boys back at Wembley.

However, no tweet will be more warmly received then that of Paul McGrath.

The Irishman is a club legend and he admitted he could not even watch the penalty shoot-out. Always the classy man that he is however, he also had a shout out to West brom after their excellent performance:

McGrath certainly wraps up the sentiments of many an Aston Villa fan from last night. He will be hoping to have an easier ride when Aston Villa play in the final on the 27th May.
