Tottenham and Arsenal are both having underwhelming seasons by their own high standards.
Arsenal are nine points off the top of the Premier League table at the moment.
Arsenal were touted as serious title contenders before the start of the season.
Meanwhile, Spurs are some way off matching their own personal ambitions of finishing in the top four as they’re 10th in the table.

Only two points separate Spurs and Arsenal at the moment, and speaking on BBC 606, Chris Sutton and Robbie Savage have been arguing about who is in a better position right now.
Sutton suggests that he’d rather be in Spurs’ shoes, claiming that, in the form table, Tottenham are performing better than Arsenal.
However, Savage was quick to call this point out as nonsense, branding Sutton as an idiot for discussing the form table based on just the last four games.

Chris Sutton branded an idiot for Tottenham comment
Savage and Sutton discussed the two north London teams.
Savage says that he’d definitely rather be in Arsenal’s position right now, branding Sutton an idiot for disagreeing.
“They are three points behind Arsenal, who are fourth. And just remember what you said last week, Chris. You’d take a season ticket at Spurs over Arsenal,” Savage said.
“Well, hang on a minute. Hang on a minute, Rob. Hang on a minute, Rob. You want to go to the table side. Rob, hang on a minute. So from the last four games, Spurs have six points. The 10th. Arsenal have two points. Who would you rather be right now?” Sutton said.
“Arsenal, What? The form table? What an idiot you are,” Savage said.
Arsenal are in a better position than Tottenham
Savage says that Arsenal are in a better position than Tottenham, and he’s not wrong.
Indeed, while Arsenal may only have two points from their last four games, they’re still ahead of Spurs in the table, and they have a kinder run of fixtures ahead of them.
Tottenham have some tough games between now and the end of the season, as they have to face the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Nottingham Forest – the four teams currently in the top four.
Meanwhile, aside from Nottingham Forest and Fulham, Arsenal face teams that are almost exclusively in the bottom-half of the table up until the end of 2024.
Martin Odegaard is now back from injury, and Arsenal should now have a good platform to kick on, while Spurs are in a difficult position with some tough fixtures to come.
