Tottenham edged Leeds aside to claim a 2-1 win and Robbie Keane has picked up on comments made by Kalvin Phillips after the full-time whistle.
Leeds were much the better side in the first half and eventually opened the scoring. A brilliant assist from Jack Harrison saw Dan James tap home.
It was the Welshman’s first goal for Leeds, and he was a constant thorn in Tottenham’s defence. But Leeds are ravaged by injury at the moment.
Eventually, Antonio Conte’s side made the breakthrough – with Lucas Moura squaring for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to score with his left foot from 12 yards.
Liam Cooper was forced to concede a free-kick on the edge of the area. Eric Dier’s effort bounced off the post to Sergio Reguilon, who tapped home.
Phillips played as a defender on Sunday, instead of midfield, in order to cope with Harry Kane dropping deep. He spoke about it after the game.
“To be honest I don’t know why he did it. We wanted to be more defensive. Me and Liam went man for man marking,” Phillips said, as per BBC.
Ex-Leeds and Tottenham star Keane responded on Sky Sports: “There’s definitely something there that he wanted to say a little bit more.”

Keane on Phillips: Bielsa right in use of Leeds man against Tottenham?
While Phillips had a solid game at the back, it is a near-impossible job to keep Kane quiet. The England skipper did not score, but he was crucial.
The two England teammates did battle throughout, with Kane picking out some glorious passes. As 90 minutes struck, Kane was vividly shattered.
But did Leeds miss Phillips in midfield? Against a smaller Harry Winks, the £50k-a-week (Mirror) Leeds ace might have dominated.
Ultimately, Leeds’ enormous number of injuries saw them tail off in the second half and Spurs capitalised. Positives for both sides.
