Robbie Fowler has told Alan Brazil’s Sports Breakfast Show on TalkSPORT (Wednesday, 8:10am) that something is different in the Premier League title race between Liverpool and Manchester City this season – and it benefits Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Liverpool earned a 3-1 win over Manchester City on Sunday afternoon, pushing The Reds nine points clear of Manchester City. Pep Guardiola’s side sit in fourth place, behind Chelsea and Leicester City.
Klopp’s men are yet to lose a league game this season – winning 11 of their 12 outings and drawing against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Liverpool have made a near-perfect start to the season, and many believe the title is already wrapped up.
Liverpool legend Fowler believes there is a difference this season. He reckons last season, Liverpool had a problem and that was Manchester City. This season, Fowler thinks it is the other way round. Manchester City have a problem – and it is Liverpool.

TBR’s view – Have Liverpool got one hand on the Premier League?
Yes. Without a doubt. Sunday proved that, beating their closest rivals without even reaching their best. Fowler makes an excellent point that least season, Liverpool were worried about City.
But this time around, City look a weaker side than the one that held aloft the Premier League title last season. Manchester City are now fearful of Klopp’s machine that are still thriving off the back of a Champions League triumph.
Liverpool have one hand on the title.
