Rob Holding says you can’t lose in Arsenal training if 22-year-old is on your team

Arsenal defender Rob Holding has sung Eddie Nketiah’s praises, deeming him a superb finisher.

Indeed, the 26-year-old says you’re winning in small-sided training games if Nketiah is on your team.

Holding and Arsenal teammate Aaron Ramsdale took part in this week’s FIFA vs Challenge on Sky Sports.

The Gunners duo spoke about themselves and their teammates, comparing their real-life traits with the in-game statistics.

Both players were asked who they felt was the best finisher at Arsenal, according to FIFA 22.

Holding went for Gabriel Martinelli, which wasn’t correct, while Ramsdale correctly guessed Alexandre Lacazette (83).

The FIFA vs Challenge interviewer then asked the duo just how much of a deadly finisher Lacazette is in training.

“Most of them are, to be honest,” replied Ramsdale. “It’s a tough day when you’re out there.”

Holding then said: “Eddie’s good. You get Eddie in your small-sided game, you’re winning.”

Nketiah, much like Nicolas Pepe, is a player who many teammates praise for his traits, but who’s struggling for game time.

This season, the 22-year-old has made just eight Premier League appearances, and not a single start.

Even now Nketiah is one of just two senior strikers at Arsenal, most of his game time has come late off the bench.

His contract expires at the end of the season and it’s very likely that he’ll go elsewhere.

While it’s a shame Nketiah hasn’t become a key player for Arsenal, he’ll no doubt shine somewhere else.
