Arsenal defenders Rob Holding and Kieran Tierney both made their comebacks from injury as the Gunners brushed aside Championship outfit Nottingham Forest at the Emirates Stadium last night.

And as per Goal, former Bolton ace Holding was very impressed with his new 22-year-old team-mates and already appears to be getting on very well with him.

He said: “Kieran’s a good Scottish lad who brings a bit of banter to the team. He and I are getting on really well, you couldn’t ask for a better way for him to settle in.

“He’s a top quality lad and he’s a great lift in the changing room as well. He’s a really nice guy and I’m so happy for him to play and get 60 minutes under his belt.”

TBR’s View – Tierney has everything Arsenal need, he just has to keep himself fit

Tierney has already had two serious injuries in his career and fearlessly throws himself into tackles. That’s good from the point of view he isn’t inhibited by his previous issues.

But if he keeps throwing himself around, he may keep on getting injured. And that would be a nightmare for Arsenal, for whom he has the potential to be so important this season.

The early signs are – and based on his Celtic performances this is no surprise – that Tierney will be a clear upgrade on Sead Kolasinac or the departed Nacho Monreal. He just has to stay fit for the duration of the campaign now.
