Rob Holding has told The Telegraph that Arsenal teammate Pablo Mari is the most positive person on the planet as the pair continue to form a superb partnership.
Mari continues to make a big impression at the Emirates. He has recently come back into the side after spending several months on the sidelines with injury.
The Spaniard only managed to make a couple of appearances while on loan. But that did not put Mikel Arteta off making his move permanent.
His form in recent weeks has started to vindicate that decision. But it appears that Arsenal’s squad has being enjoying the benefit of Mari’s presence for a lot longer.
Of course, there were the heartening images of the 27-year-old comforting Gabriel Martinelli after his recent injury scare.
And Holding has now expressed his admiration for his fellow defender.
“I am a bit nastier than Pablo,” he told The Telegraph as he discussed their partnership. “Pablo is the most positive person on the planet. You see him and he will just make you happy.
Mari – who earns £85,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – currently boasts a remarkable record. Arsenal have won eight of the nine games that he has featured in. And all of the goals in their only defeat came after he had already been substituted.
Together, Holding and Mari have kept two clean sheets in a row in the Premier League. Both men may feel that they have a point to prove with a long-term position seemingly up for grabs alongside Gabriel Magalhaes.
