Rio Ferdinand has reacted on Twitter in astonishment after listening to a Manchester United fan tell TalkSPORT that Aston Villa star Jack Grealish would not move to Old Trafford in the summer.
Grealish, 24, has been in stunning form for Villa this season despite the Midlands club sitting in 19th place in the Premier League table. Dean Smith’s men, though, did reach the Carabao Cup final where they narrowly lost to Manchester City.
Indeed, the Villa skipper has been involved in 17 goals this season during his 30 league and cup outings. He has scored nine times, and created eight – while wearing the armband. An England call-up is supposedly on its way this month.
The Sun have claimed that Manchester United are willing to offer £60million to sign Grealish, and offer the playmaker £150,000 a week – but a United supporter told TalkSPORT that he does not believe Grealish would sign if Villa stay up.
“We will not get Grealish. Villa are a massive club, why would Grealish leave Villa for us,” The fan told TalkSPORT, which completely shocked United legend Ferdinand – who suggested in his Tweet the exact opposite.

TBR’s view – Do Villa need Grealish, after Fernandes signing?
Manchester United have needed a player like Bruno Fernandes for quite some time. It was a deal that needed to happen, especially with the long-term injury suffered by Paul Pogba. But Grealish is still an important transfer.
That is because Grealish can play out wide, in the 10 role or deeper in midfield. His ability to drive his side up the pitch means he can play in numerous positions, and with both Juan Mata and Nemanja Matic, he could be an ideal replacement.
