Rio Ferdinand says Spurs have an absolute 'top professional' in their ranks
Rio Ferdinand has tipped Spurs striker Harry Kane to be “back in the groove” soon.
The Tottenham talisman was heavily linked with a move to Manchester City over the summer.
However, the Premier League champions reportedly refused to meet Spurs’ £150million asking price.
And last Wednesday, Kane confirmed he’d be staying put at the north London club.
The 28-year-old is yet to score in the Premier League, but Ferdinand has backed him to get back to his best.
“There was a bit of uncertainty surrounding Harry Kane,” he said on his YouTube channel.
“The uncertainty and the pantomime surrounding Harry Kane and Levy, will he stay or will he go.
“Kane has been told now that he needs to get with the programme.
“There will be no question about whether or not he will do that.
“Kane is a professional and his sights are on being the Premier League’s top goalscorer of all time.
“He’s a top professional for sure and he’ll be back in the groove soon for sure.”
Kane is poised to captain England in their World Cup qualifier against Hungary on Thursday night.
