Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has claimed that Marcus Rashford possesses ‘world-class potential’, but he’s not a ‘world-class’ player just yet.
The 26-year-old was one of the best players in the Premier League last season, but his form since the start of this campaign has been really poor. However, nobody can question the talent and ability he has.

Rio Ferdinand says Marcus Rasford has ‘world-class potential’
Marcus Rashford has constantly divided opinion at Manchester United, hasn’t he?
When the Englishman burst onto the scene as a teenager all those years ago, everyone expected him to become an absolute superstar.
However, he just hasn’t been consistent enough over the years, and his form this season compared to last shows just how big the drop-off is. Some of his performances have just been unacceptable.
Rio Ferdinand posted a video on his YouTube channel yesterday where he’s seen having a chat with TalkSPORT trio Jim White, Simon Jordan and Stuart Pearce.
The Manchester United legend was asked if Rashford is a ‘world-class’ player, and he replied: “No! He’s not. He has world-class potential, I don’t think he’s a world-class player.
“He’s not proved it for long enough. I think [to be] world-class – you get to a level and you sustain that over a period of time. At the moment, he kind of comes in flurries.
“He has moments when you go “Oh my!” He takes your breath away. He does things that not many people on the planet can do, and he’s great.”

Marcus Rashford needs to step up for Manchester United
Apart from Marcus Rashford, Manchester United don’t have an attacker at the club who has proved they can score goals consistently.
The Englishman had a terrific campaign last time out. He scored 30 goals and provided 11 assists in what was a truly spectacular season, and that shows he has the quality to deliver.
Manchester United’s European journey is over, and all that’s left is the Premier League and the FA Cup now. They desperately need someone to score regularly, and Rashford is the only one who has proved that he can.
Erik ten Hag’s side take on Liverpool this weekend. If Rashford recovers from his illness and starts, he will have to step up. If he doesn’t, United could be on the end of another hammering.
