Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand sung Alejandro Garnacho’s praises following his impressive Premier League display on Saturday.

The Red Devils attacker was instrumental in the 2-0 win over Everton at Old Trafford, winning two penalty kicks for his teammates to put away.

Garnacho drew a foul in the box from opposition captain James Tarkowski early on, prompting the referee to point to the spot.

Bruno Fernandes stepped up and successfully converted on 12 minutes for his first goal in two months and his first in the league in four.

Garnacho was then too fast for Ben Godfrey, who brought the 19-year-old down for another Manchester United penalty.

Fernandes gave the ball to Marcus Rashford, who showed composure from 12 yards out to double the Red Devils’ lead on 36 minutes.

Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho is ‘refreshing to see’

Everton simply couldn’t cope with Garnacho, who had them on the back foot pretty much every time he got the ball.

And Ferdinand, speaking on TNT Sports’ live coverage, couldn’t help but sing the young Argentine’s praises.

“It’s refreshing to see. You have to credit Garnacho,” he said. “He’s so elusive in those situations and he’s hard to pin down.

“That’s what I loved about him; on and off the ball, he’s one who doesn’t stop and admire. He drives and runs from deep. It’s a clumsy tackle but he invites that.

“I don’t think any of the players the start of the season expected him to be the player he is now. I think they expected him to an impact player off the bench.

“The way he moves, he’s infectious. You look at Wayne, that was part of his game.”

Garnacho really is a star in the making. At just 19 years of age, he’s already tearing up the Premier League.

It’ll be exciting to see how he continues to develop at Manchester United.
