Rio Ferdinand has remarked on just how fit one Liverpool player is looking at the moment.
Virgil van Dijk is the most recent guest on Ferdinand’s podcast, and the two met face to face to discuss all things Liverpool amid a Premier League title charge.
The Reds currently sit second in the Premier League.

Ferdinand was incredibly complimentary of Van Dijk during this interview, claiming that he’s a Rolls Royce of a footballer who never even breaks a sweat on the pitch.
Interestingly, Ferdinand noted that Van Dijk was looking very lean during their interview too, remarking on the centre-back’s physique and a recent transformation.

Virgil van Dijk is looking lean
Ferdinand was full of praise for Van Dijk and he noted that the Dutchman is looking in great shape.
Van Dijk has been called ‘unbelievable’ for his performances, and it’s not surprising to see him playing so well when he’s in this sort of condition.
“He’s a little bit younger, better looking than me. Hair never out of place, never sweat on his head at all. A Rolls Royce, the updated version.
A man who’s won everything there is to win domestically for Liverpool, Mr. Virgil van Dijk.
We have the new and improved Rolls Royce sitting next to me. The man that purrs on the halfway line, waiting for races, waiting to out muscle, out strength, out pace, everyone. Mr. Virgil van Dijk
“I was just saying, when you walk to you, you look lean, man.”
Van Dijk is back to his best
It’s great to hear Ferdinand comment on Van Dijk looking leaner, because it wasn’t long a go that his physicality was being called into question.
Indeed, just last year it was stated that Van Dijk looked like he’d lost a yard or two of pace.
Of course, this came off the back of a serious injury for the Dutchman, and he was bound to have got a tad slower in that time.
However, through hard work and dedication, Van Dijk has got back into arguably the best shape of his career, and he’s been back to his imperious best for Liverpool under Arne Slot this season.
Van Dijk is looking fitter and leaner than ever before, and if he can keep up this level of performance, Liverpool will certainly be challenging for the Premier League title.
Arne Slot’s side are all the stronger for having a fit and firing Van Dijk at the heart of their defence.
