Rio Ferdinand has given his prediction for Manchester United v Tottenham this week and believes it’s a game the Red Devils should be looking to win.

Tottenham go to Old Trafford above United in the table but knowing full well that Ten Hag’s outfit beat Arsenal against the odds earlier in the season. And despite a 0-0 draw with Newcastle this weekend, Ten Hag’s side have been looking a bit better in recent times.

Of course, United v Spurs has rich history and is always one of the big PL games. And predicting the outcome of the game on his podcast on YouTube, former United man Ferdinand says United should be winning.

“It’s always eventful when you play against Spurs. Listen, Conte, Kane, Richarlison’s out. I don’t think it will be a free-scoring game I think it will be tight,” Ferdinand said on his Five Podcast.

“I don’t know, it depends. Is Rashford going to start? Is Cristiano going to start? Will he go with the same team. I mean listen I don’t think there’s much between the teams. United should be going out to win the game, look, you’re at home against Spurs at the end of the day, that should be looking like three points. You should be going out with the intention to get three points.”

TBR’s View: Tottenham v United Massive

This is a chance for Spurs to show the rest of the league that they really do mean business and a win would be massive in the context of things.

For United, it’s their own chance to come back at the top four a bit and give themselves renewed belief that the process under Ten Hag is indeed working.

Ferdinand suggests United should be looking to win this one, which is right. But beating Conte’s Tottenham is easier said than done and an away win wouldn’t surprise people.
