Having worked under Sir Alex Ferguson, Ferdinand has seen players get the ‘hair-dryer’ treatment, but he has now claimed that Paul Scholes was treated differently.

According to Ferdinand, Sir Alex never shouted at the former England international midfielder, who is also a pundit for TNT Sports these days.

Ferdinand said on The Obi One Podcast: “Scholesy. I have seen him get red cards for stupid tackles, it was like the manager didn’t see that. ‘Oh what’s happened? Scholesy has been sent off. I’ll look at the replay later guys’.”

Paul Scholes is a Manchester United legend

Paul Scholes is one of the greatest players of all time and is a true Manchester United legend. He really is.

While there will always be debate about whether Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard were better players than Scholes, what the United great achieved in the game cannot be understated at all.

Scholes came through the United academy and established himself in the first team. He was so good and important for the Red Devils that Sir Alex Ferguson brought him back from retirement.

The former England international midfielder made 499 appearances in the Premier League in his career. He scored 107 goals and gave 55 assists in those matches.

Scholes won the Premier League title as many as 11 times, the FA Cup on three occasions, the Football League Cup twice, and the UEFA Champions League in 1999 and 2008.
