Rio Ferdinand has told his YouTube channel that he really loved seeing how Antonio Conte pushed his Tottenham Hotspur players in pre-season to the stage where Harry Kane was sick and Son Heung-min collapsed.
Spurs have made a stunning start to the new season. They sit top of the Premier League table after thrashing Southampton 4-1 in North London.

The Saints took the lead. But, by the end, it seemed that the visitors were simply unable to cope with Conte’s men. However, that should not come as a real surprise.
Conte took little time to turn his Tottenham side into a team who worked harder than most following his appointment. But he appears to have demanded even more ahead of this season.

While away in South Korea, Conte got his players to run 42 lengths of the pitch. And that left several of the squad in a desperate state, including Kane and Son.
Clearly, the drills are reaping rewards already. And Ferdinand suggested that he is amazed by just how much the Italian is demanding of his players.
“The Conte impact is massive. This guy, the mentality, the drive. You know what I love? When I saw Kane and Son being sick and whatever in pre-season. He’s stripping all these men back, don’t care who you are. Golden boot, I don’t care. You’re all getting rinsed in pre-season,” he told his YouTube channel.
Ferdinand loved how Conte pushed Tottenham players
The Tottenham squad have absolutely brought into what Conte wants. The progress was clear last season as they went on to qualify for the Champions League.
And they have put together a squad that looks capable of competing on several fronts.
Spurs are moving in the right direction at a rapid rate. It is going to be fascinating to see where Conte could now take them in the months and years ahead.
