Rio Ferdinand has been speaking about Liverpool and their coaching staff tonight and has lavished praise on the set-up at Anfield under Jurgen Klopp’s management.

Liverpool are flying once again in the Premier League and although they sit behind Man City in the title race, the performances overall have been excellent again. Players like Mo Salah and Sadio Mane are shining, while the likes of James Milner and Jordan Henderson continue to play key roles. Younger stars too, such as Harvey Elliott, are making an impact.

And according to Rio Ferdinand, Liverpool deserve credit for their coaching and the way they improve players.

“A good yardstick when you recruit players is when the players come, do they improve? Do they get better?,” Ferdinand said on his VibeWithFive Podcast.

“Van Dijk’s gone to another level. Alisson has gone to another level, regardless of the fees they paid. Robertson from Hull, Salah and Mane have gone to crazy levels. Jota signs, £40m, gone to another level. You can see the culture and environment they’ve got their works. Their value goes up.”

Ferdinand went on to say the whole system is down to leadership and culture. Clearly, he is a fan of Jurgen Klopp’s way of doing things and experienced similar himself in playing under Sir Alex Ferguson.

TBR’s View: Liverpool Setting The Example Along With City

This is a great point Ferdinand makes here. He was speaking about Tottenham in the main but was right to point out how Liverpool and City do things.

For a Man United legend to praise the Reds takes some doing. However, it’s there for all to see and Ferdinand is right to point out what Klopp has got going at Anfield.

Liverpool continue to produce players from the youth set-up and then into first-team level, you see improvements. It deserves credit, and is why they are so successful.
