Rio Ferdinand has hailed Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, branding the Frenchman ‘a playground footballer’.
The 24-year-old was on target for Spurs against Wolves on Sunday, scoring inside the first minute of the game catching Rui Patricio out with an effort from the edge of the box.
The star produced a fantastic performance, at one point leaving three players for dead as he led a Spurs counter before feeding Sergio Reguilon.

He really stood out in what was a disappointing collective showing from Tottenham, and Ferdinand was left blown away.
Speaking on the FIVE YouTube channel, he said: “This season he’s shown why such a big price tag was behind his name.
“His feet are beautiful, a playground footballer. The ball comes into him, one or two players marking him, he doesn’t care, a little shimmy, he gets out of trouble all the time.”
Despite his fantastic display, Ndombele was again substituted off in the second-half by Jose Mourinho.
TBR’s View – Ndombele getting better and better
Spurs have hit a rough patch at the moment, but Ndombele is one positive at least for fans.

It seems he is improving week on week, and it is becoming apparent why Spurs spent so much money on him.
His technical quality is a joy to watch, and it may only be a matter of time before he explodes in the Premier League.
