Rio Ferdinand has told his YouTube channel that he has to pick Son Heung-min ahead of Phil Foden in his Premier League Team of the Season, labelling the Spurs star’s record ‘unbelievable’.
Ultimately, it proved to be a hugely disappointing campaign for Tottenham. At one stage, they led the Premier League under Jose Mourinho.

However, their form took a drastic turn. They lost 11 games in all competitions following the turn of the year.
Nevertheless, there were some positives. Harry Kane won yet another Golden Boot. And Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg proved to be a very good signing after arriving last summer.

Son is another who can arguably be proud of his season. The South Korean led the scoring charts for much of the campaign and also reached double figures for assists.
And after naming in his Team of the Season, Ferdinand insisted that the 28-year-old deserved the nod ahead of Phil Foden.
“In terms of assists and goals, Son, he killed it. Son was unbelievable,” he told his YouTube channel.
“Son’s got 17 goals, 10 assists.
“No one else can go in there. Like I say, Foden you could argue, maybe a little bit, but when you look at Son’s goals and assists record, he has to go in.”
Son’s form did dip after the turn of the year. But it will encourage the incoming boss that he ended the campaign with four goals in his final eight league appearances.
Of course, much of the talk right now centres around what the future holds for Kane.
Losing the Englishman would obviously be a massive blow. But Son is perhaps one of the players who will leave the Tottenham fans with hope that they can recover should they lose their talisman.
