Rio Ferdinand has been singing the praises of Arsenal duo Emile Smith Rowe this evening, while he also had a kind word to say about his teammate, Bukayo Saka.

Smith Rowe scored once again at the weekend to take his tally to ten for the season. Saka, meanwhile, also got in the act with a well-taken goal himself as the Gunners saw off Brentford.

The England duo have been key men for Arsenal all season and are now firmly established as two of the most exciting young players in the Premier League. And speaking on his Vibe With Five podcast today, former Manchester United man Ferdinand admitted he is a big fan of Smith Rowe in particular.

“ESR is doing his thing man. I’ve loved him from the start of the season, he’s been in my dream team and everything. He’s one that I think other big clubs will be looking at, Saka as well especially,” Ferdinand commented.

The Arsenal duo are among a number of younger players making waves at the club. In Smit Rowe’s absence, Gabi Martinelli has also stepped up, while the likes of Aaron Ramsdale and Ben White have also been impressing.

TBR’s View: Smith Rowe Could End Up At The World Cup

If Smith Rowe keeps his form up and can nail down a regular place again, then Gareth Southgate will find him hard to ignore come Qatar in December.

He really is that good and it’s no surprise to hear Ferdinand has him in his dream team. The Arsenal man has been exceptional and looks like he’s getting even better under Mikel Arteta.

Arsenal, meanwhile, continue to push for the top four. And if they are to make that Champions League spot, then Smith Rowe – and Saka of course – will be crucial to that.
